Personal Information:
Jennifer was born in Athens, GA on February 9, 1972, while her father, associate Robert Grayson, was in his final year of law school at UGA. The family moved to Marietta, GA later that same year. After graduating from Atlanta’s Marist School in 1990, she attended UGA on academic scholarship.
Jennifer earned her BBA in Accounting in 1995 and her MBA in 1998. She was an Accounting Manager and Senior Financial Analyst for Hagemeyer North America from 1999-2000; a Division Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller for the Atlanta Fortune 500 Company, Group One Automotive, from 2001-2002; and the CFO and Senior Consultant of her own firm, T and J Financial Consulting, Inc. from 2003-2005.
Continuing in the family “double Dawg” tradition, Jennifer returned to UGA in 2005 to attend law school as her father and little brother, Brett, had done before her. She earned her JD degree in August 2008 and will sit for the Bar Exam in February 2009. Her four-year-old son, Cordell, and two-year-old daughter, Sara Beth, are being raised as proper Bulldog fans and have already begun practicing tailgating in the driveway of their new East Athens home.
Professional Background
Jennifer has worked in various capacities with her father’s Marietta law firm, Edwards, Freidwald and Grayson, since she was fifteen years old. At eighteen, she was a summer intern with Cobb County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cauthorn. She completed a legal and legislative research internship as an undergraduate for Congressman Buddy Darden in Washington, D.C. in the summer of 1992. After taking a hiatus from her successful career as a forensic accountant to attend law school, Jennifer served as LSHFG’s law clerk during her last two years at UGA Law.
