Personal Information:
Bob was born in Columbus, Georgia on September 12, 1943 and grew up in Atlanta. After graduating Headland High in 1961, he went on to UGA where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1966. He and his wife, Paula, who he describes as “a wonderful person and clearly my better half,” were married on June 8, 1966.
From 1966 to 1969, Bob continued in his family’s tradition of military service as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Artillery. He spent one year as Battery Commander of a nuclear delivery unit and one year as a Group S-4 officer, positions normally held by a captain and major respectively.
Bob and Paula have two children, Jennifer, who will graduate from UGA School of Law in 2008, and Brett, a Marine lawyer who served in Iraq in 2007 and 2008. They also have two grandchildren, Cord and Sara Beth.
Professional Background
After graduating from UGA with a J.D. in law in 1972, Bob began practicing with the Marietta firm of Edwards, Awtrey and Parker. He was later a partner in Edwards, Grayson & Cauthorn which became Edwards, Friedewald & Grayson in 1978. He has represented the Cobb DFCS since 1972 in over 10,000 child abuse, neglect and deprivation cases. He has handled cases involving automobile accidents, airplane crashes, an exploded industrial tire, commercial banking, medical and dental malpractice, real estate contracts, divorce and child custody, estates and zoning. He has also specially prosecuted an incest case resulting in a conviction and defended an armed robbery case which resulted in a hung jury. Bob is now continuing his practice as of counsel to Lewis, Stolz, Hurt, Frierson & Grayson, LLP.
